Brainstorm

Just cleaned the studio as it was well over due, and also polished off the space by setting up a few flats that I snatched from a movie set. I set up my favorite flat with my favorite chair and favorite ladder. I feel a creative in the works!

Behind the scenes

Today was a fun location shoot photographing promo shots for Brandon Jay McLaren on location 25 mins out of the city. I drove up in a delivery van with the crew and Brandon piled in the back like we were illegally crossing a boarder. I was thankful Ron Won joined the shoot to capture some video footage. I'll post it when it's complete. Here are the shots after the shoot was done.

Location Scout.

I drove around the city today with David Colangelo looking for great shooting locations to photograph him and Patricio Davila as part of their Nuit Blanche Toronto art exhibit. Needless to say it was a very inspiring and creatively stimulating experience.

Location Scout.

A preview of a shoot coming up this Sunday. I can't wait to explore this land. It's government owned (so no hassle right??? - we'll see) and the adjacent owners know my grandparents. Small world.

My new obsession - Dogs

NYC with Vishana and Mark P

Went to NYC in June with my besties. Vishana and Mark P.

East Village Boys

People have often asked me to shoot them nude, but for the first time, I asked someone to pose nude for me. For this project I pushed away many of my comfort zones in order to tap into the emotions needed to make it a success. Concentrating on the fragility and beauty of the model, this shoot felt very personal because it was all about my ability to make Alex feel comfortable in front of me. His vulnerability and desire to collaborate allowed me to tap into the spontaneity of photography, which I now realize is the most satisfying place to be.
